IN ORDER

Well, the blog is functioning in order again... thank goodness.
Unfortunately, my brain and my body isn't.
Sick. Recuperating now.

I like this picture. Because it's a clash of culture. Between French couture and Italian arts.
This was originally a billboard poster for a French fashion label. They decided to advertise the new couture in an a-la Leonardo Da Vinci's famous Last Supper fresco.

You see, while the fashion label thought it was cool to change the sexes in the poster and give it a sexy twist, the rest of the artisan world thought, "WHAT the BLOODY HELL ARE YOU DOING?! That's sacrilege!"

(I like using that word... sacrilege. Watch HBO's Rome Season1. It's used 9 times per episode. Seriously.)

The fashion label claimed that art was just a portrayal of another person's view, and not the actual sacred act itself. Which I think it's actually correct.

In the end, the billboard poster had to be taken down. Another lesson in advertising. Even in the modern Western world.

Check out the half nude guy. He's got his hands on one girl, and his legs in another.

STROM ARISING

Remember that horrible storm that swept KL on April 1st? It was right after lunch time. All of a sudden, it turned dark... very dark.

And when the clouds rolled away finally, the rain poured...

CHICK FLICKS FOR ME

I went to watch 27 Dresses today. I have been waiting fo so long! for it to hit our cinemas. Despite the poor reviews about the chick-lit movie, I still think it's great! Yeah, great to moan over how lonely I've been. About being the maid and never the bride.

Katherine Heigel is simply mesmerizing... I love her voice and her hair!! But she's really different, when it comes to being dramatic.

And who can say no to James Mardsen.. Mmmmm. The very same guy who played "Cyclops" (X-Men), "Corny Collins" (Hairspray) & "Prince Edward" (Enchanted). One grin of a smile and my heart drops.

Unfortunately, 27 Dresses might not appeal to everyone, unlike The Devil Wears Prada, from the same director. Prada may have been about a straight-girl being whirled about in the fashion industry and how she learnt to step in and step out with attitude.
27 Dresses only makes a great Girls'-Night-at-home movie due to the straight fact : happy endings are the stuff of fictions. Like Enchanted. But it did give one good lesson ; learn to speak out and stop being a doormat. Do what you want to do! And stop making excuses.

So, I had a good night.

But there was a little bit more!! The trailers for Definitely, Maybe and Made of Honor was out. My next must-see-flick was Definitely, Maybe since I checked out the trailer last month. Ryan Reynolds!!!! My hero from Two Guys, a Girl and A Pizza Place comedy series. Call me shallow but I still need some fantasy! Definitely, Maybe is brought by the same people who made Love, Actually (a MUST see!!) and Bridget Jones (yes, a must-see too!).

My favourite part was when the daughter asks her dad, "What's the boy-word for slut?"

"You know... they haven't invented one yet!" ;P

As for Made of Honor here's Patrick 'McDreamy' Damsey playing the-best-friend-but-not-the-boyfriend" role. Watch the scene with the priest!

TEA WITH DADDY

One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me. I was maybe 2 1/2 years old and had just recovered from an accident. Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a get-well gift and it was one of my favorite toys.

Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of 'tea', which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.

My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was 'just the cutest thing!'

My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watches him drink it up.Then she says, 'Did it ever occur to you that the only place that a 2 1/2 year old baby can reach to get water is the toilet?'

Updates... Just Me Checking In

Life's a Dance... so watch where you're stepping on. How dainty and graceful your steps may be, people will still trot on your feet.

Hello world.... it's just me. Yup, I'm still alive. Nothing much has happened. And nothing much changed either. I'm complaining about life's dullness and routines.

But what I do hate is being constantly picked on at the office. It's always MY fault. It's always OUR Team to be blamed. We tried and tried to improve, believe me! But the funny thing is... the more we try our best, the more mistakes conjure up!!

So, what's the use of trying???!

I'm just waiting for June to arrive, and then, it'll be chao, babe!!
Wish me luck, world! It's time for a total change.

On a lighter note... I'm almost ready for my upcoming trip!! Shhhhh... it's still a secret!

THE ISLANDS ARE CALLING

Nostalgic memories of island vacations are coming back.

Because of the past weeks' airfare promos by AirAsia and MAS. And also because work is stressing me out.

Perhentian... will I see your beautiful blue waters again? Or maybe, I'll experience Kuching! Sigh... I dream of beaches and sleeping under the trees, enjoying the breeze...

I dream...

QUIET MOMENT

Hello God, I called tonight
To talk a little while
I need a friend who'll listen
To my anxiety and trial.

You see, I can't quite make it
Through a day just on my own...
I need your love to guide me,
So I'll never feel alone.

I want to ask you please to keep,
My family and friends, safe and sound.
Come and fill their lives with confidence
For whatever fate they're bound.

Give me faith, dear God, to face
Each hour throughout the day,
And not to worry over things
I can't change in any way.

I thank you God, for being home
And listening to my call,
For giving me such good advice
When I stumble and fall...

Your number, God, is the only one
That answers every time.
I never get a busy signal,
Never had to pay a dime.

So thank you, God, for listening
To my troubles and my sorrow.
Good night, God, I love You , too,
And I'll call again tomorrow!

P.S. Please bless all my friends and family too.

DROWNING

Life's a Dance... so watch where you're stepping on

I'm not doing so well, currently. Both my brother, Jerrard and his gf (CJ, who is staying with us) are jobless, having quit their positions. Jerrard coz he just couldn't handle work (he's spoilt!) and CJ because the company wanted to cut her pay by RM300 just so that they can give higher remunerations to the company directors. RM300 is basically 20% of her current salary! Blame it on Eden. That food catering corp.

So.. grocery shopping, travel fares and car fuel now all falls on me. And the house bills. I spend A LOT on bills, especially since we have Broadband and Cable TV. Doesn't that suck?! I didn't ask to be landed with these two, in the first place. All I wanted was a place to call my own... not a home full of dependants.

Worse still, I'm getting more and more stressed with my job. The workload keeps getting worse, and the company is intending to increase the services profile... without expanding the work force! That means.. we get new clients, provide the same level of service to a wider and bigger scope... with the same amount of people currently working here. It's crazy! A little while, I'm required to test a new system that's to be launched by July 1st 2008... ten minutes later, I have to submit a proposal which is due by tha afternoon... and when it's 5.30pm, everyones goes home but I'm still at my desk finishing up yesterday's deadline.

But you know what's the WORST part??? I feel OBLIGED to stay with this job UNTIL everything is settled and running smoothly. I FEEL OBLIGED. It's like... "Jen will save the day!"..."Jen is the Team Leader. She must lead!" , or... "Sacrifice yourself for the sake of the better good!"

Isn't my happiness, the much "better good"??

I am VERY confused.I am so confused.. it's like having a split personality. I argue with myself. Not with my friends.. not with my brother. I don't even tell anyone.

And now, I rant it on my blog!

WHAT AM I DOING ?

It's 2 a.m. and I haven't gone to bed. What am I doing right now?

Listening to Sarah Brightman's Harem CD, and watching the Chinese New Year fireworks outside my window. And surfing the net.
Seriously, fireworks at 2.00 in the morning, right in front of me!
It's Friday tomorrow! Happy (belated) Valentine's Day, peeps!

The fireworks were meager. Not like this awesome picture.

CLASSIC EPIC SPOOF

The new movie this week is "Meet the Titans". Oh greatttt... another spoof of an epic movie. Thanks to the people who brought us the Scary Movies quartet, Epic Movie, and Date Movie, looks like Meet The Titans will just be another low-skank pokking fun at the celeb world.

These people are so desperate to get a box office record that they do the lowest form of plagerism. Take a great movie scene and turn give it sex, blood and slap-stick, one laugh jokes.

Off course, it doesn't hurt to entartain too.

So, what if these same ppl took a great classis like, The Ten Commandments, and turned it into a modern day spoof?

Frightening!

JOANNE NISHA WEDS ARTHUR

Joanna Nisha and her family, before leaving home.
[L-R] Dave, her brother, Nisha, Aunt Helena and Uncle Soma.

Her parents proudly and lovingly lead her to the altar, to be given with their full blessings.

Lighting the unity candles as a symbol of love
My cousins [Girls: L-R] Jen, Erin, Geraldine, Joline, Jill [Boys: L-R] Joel & Jerrad
The middle girl is Sharon "Lalee" Jeremiah, our second-youngest cousin.

SICK

Warning : Rants of a bored mind due to too much Actified, Wood's cough syrup and some other flu pills.

I am sick. And it's sickening to be sick on a weekend. Weekends are meant for rest and relax and recreation and movies and walking around.

Not meant for being stuck in the house, with nothing but soup to sooth the soar tonsils, and the drooling nose. Eewwww!

Worse still, I have a wedding to attend later in 2 hours. Cousin Neesha's getting married. 10.30am Wedding Mass at Kepong and then, 8.00pm Wedding Dinner in Nilai. So weird, the locations are VERY far apart.

Oh no... the horror! Relatives and cousins and strangers to attend to. I'll stand straight and play the good Jeremiah girl. Just smile and wave.

I feel sick!

HEATH LEDGER - R.I.P.

MSNBC News Services
updated 7:06 p.m. ET Jan. 22, 2008

NEW YORK - Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday in a Manhattan apartment in what police sources are calling an apparent suicide or accidental overdose. He was 28.
According to the New York Times, Ledger was found naked and unconscious with pills strewn all around him. Police sources told the Times that the death appeared to be a suicide or an accidental overdose.

A source told msnbc.com's Courtney Hazlett that Ledger had been turning down roles lately. NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the apartment. The housekeeper, who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there, found him naked and unconscious in bed at approximately 3:30 p.m. ET, according to The New York Times. After moving his body to the floor and receiving no response from the actor after shaking him, they called authorities.

“We are investigating the possibility of an overdose,” Browne said. “There were pills within the vicinity of the bed.” A large crowd of paparazzi and gawkers began gathering Tuesday evening outside the building on an upscale block, where several police officers guarded the door.

According to The Times, city workers rolled Ledger’s body, encased in a black body bag, out of the building on a stretcher. The medical examiner’s office planned an autopsy on Wednesday, spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said.

While not a marquee movie star, Ledger was a respected, award-winning actor who took his craft seriously rather than cashing in on his heartthrob looks.

He was nominated for an Oscar for his performance as a gay cowboy in “Brokeback Mountain,” where he met Michelle Williams, who played his wife in the film. The two had a daughter, Matilda, and lived together in Brooklyn until they split up last year.

Ledger most recently appeared in “I’m Not There,” in which he played one of the many incarnations of Bob Dylan — as did Cate Blanchett, whose performance in that film earned an Oscar nomination Tuesday for best supporting actress.

Ledger had finished filming his role as the Joker this year in “The Dark Knight,” a sequel to 2005’s “Batman Begins.” He’s had starring roles in “A Knight’s Tale” and “The Patriot,” and played the suicidal son of Billy Bob Thornton in “Monster’s Ball.” He also played a heroin addict in the 2006 Australian film “Candy.”

Mel Gibson, who co-starred with Ledger in “The Patriot,” told Access Hollywood, “I had such great hope for him. He was just taking off and to lose his life at such a young age is a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”

Ledger was born in 1979 in Perth, in western Australia, to a mining engineer and a French teacher. After several independent films, Ledger moved to Los Angeles at age 19 and co-starred opposite Julia Stiles in “10 Things I Hate About You,” a teen comedy reworking of “The Taming of the Shrew.” His movie career caught on soon after that, culminating with his Academy Award nomination for “Brokeback Mountain.”

“Dark Knight” director Christopher Nolan said earlier this month that Ledger’s performance as the Joker would be wildly different than Jack Nicholson’s memorable turn in 1989’s “Batman.”

“It was a very great challenge for Heath,” Nolan had said. “He’s extremely original, extremely frightening, tremendously edgy. A very young character, a very anarchic presence that taps into a lot of our basic fears and panic.”

Rest in peace, Heath. Here's a short tribute... and how I'll always remember you :
