WALKING THRU M.V. FAIRYLAND

I had only ONE day off from work, before returning to Seremban for Christmas Holidays. And what better place to visit than MID VALLEY MEGAMALL!
Seriously, I never get tired of going there.
The Interior Design People at MV really outdid themselves this year. I liked the decos much much more than their previous X'mas designs.
Let's take a walk thru pictures, shall we?
The North Court

The Centre Court

Santa Came A-Visiting

The Beautiful Fairyland. I wish I had someone to take my picture here!

A little walk to The Gardens, and this is the only picture I took

Back at MV, even Bread Talk joined in the tree making

Suddenly I became lonely and naughty. So, I decided to take pictures of other people's family.

The Littlest Poser

Another Happy Family... cute!

"Look, Ma! I'm as RED as the giant Mushroom!"

North Court details. The only deco at the south Court was an Estee Lauder booth

Walking through the Butterflies

The Fairyland flower lamps

That's MY unicorn... it's on my wish list. Can someone PLEASE get me that cute Nici Unicorn? PLEASE?????..... (this is me talking, by the way.)

At last! A picture of ME ! (am REALLY gotta lose some weight)

ALL THAT JAZZ

7th November -- Taking a chance alone, your truly went to watch CHICAGO THE MUSICAL. I've seen the movie and I've listened to the Broadway Tracks on AccuRadio Broadway.

It was about time I watched the real deal - the musical that made waves.

It starts.

"Welcome. Ladies and Gentlemen, you are about to see a story of murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery, and treachery - all those things we all hold near and dear to our hearts. Thank you."

Overall, the production brought over to KL was somewhat so-so and ok la. Beggars can't be choosers after all. If I can't make it to either West End in London, or Broadway in New York... sigh!... this just had to do.

The first act was a little draggy and a tiny bit dis-organized. When All That Jazz ended with Roxie shooting Fred Casely dead, it was not a smooth transition into the next number Funny Honey (Hubby Of Mine).

But the music number that I was REALLY REALLY WANTED to watch was the climatic Cell Block Tango. The tales of the Six Merry Murderesses, each telling their innocent tales of being led into criminal injustice.

Not only were these girls hot! They rocked the stage! Off course they didn't dress like these in KL. Oh no no no no no. Censorship Board's and Kementrian Kebudayaan's intervention. Enough said!

But even the censorship board could not take away the orignal lyrics and dialogues away. Only the dresses and dance moves.

Still, there were still some pretty alluring and kinky moves.

The dialogues were clear and funny! And everyone actually felt pity for poor Amos Hart, the unfortunate husband of Roxie. We even applauded for him when he made his exit. An exit without an exit-music number!

Act II was my personal favourite! Starting with I Know A Girl, continuing with Me And My Baby, etc. These two first songs were ommitted from the movie version and actually makes more sense if you listen to the lyrics.

The guy who played Billy Flint, $5,000 (1920's) Criminal-Justice lawyer, was not as exalting as the three leading ladies; Velma, Roxie and Matron "Mama" Morton. So overall, I had a pretty amazing time watching Chicago... finally! Everything went well during the show, no faulty sound system, no flops in the dance moves.

But it could have been a whole lot better if it weren't shown in this country.

And all that Jazzzz....

NICKY KELAKAR

This my little cousin Greg, giving a live commentary on his brother's biking skills.

What I love most about this video is that a small boy shot it with a handphone, talks smoothly, adds his own sound effects... and laughs like a girl!

MY SHORT VACATION

I booked a room at Hotel Awana Genting for my short vacation. Just to enjoy the cool mountain air. It was peaceful and sublime. I had time alone to think and moments to re-arrange my aspirations.

The weekend to myself. Peace.

The transportation to Genting. It was a 80 minute ride up to the peak.

The big bed. The entire room was HUGE!

Room with wide window. The long corridor.

The messy bed on a Saturday morning.
I loved this bathroom window pane!

And finally, the view.

ADVENTURES ON MY OWN

A friend of a friend had won two tickets to Rose Rose I Love You. When I first heard about it, I wasn't keen to go. This is suppose to be Malaya's very own taboo - the legendary Cabaret Queen, Artisan, and Stripper.

Okay, so free tickets! WITH accommodation at Awana Genting, for two. This friend of a friend couldn't go... so did my friend.

I had no companion, but to Genting I did go!

Honestly, the show was not as good as I expected. Half of the dialogues were in Cantonese... or Mandarin? Ayway, I had to miss some of the jokes because I could only understand the English lines. The storyline was mostly about WHY she became a stripper, rather than how she stripped.

I think most of the audience was nervous about the stripping part!
But aside from it all, the cast were good, especially Carmen Soo, Tin Tan and Tony Eusoff. The supporting cast were displaying amazing vocal skills as well! Especially the harmonising Yatt, Eee, Sam girls! Kind like the Malayan Supremes!

The songs used were both old and new, with a twist of Cha Cha Cha's and Shubam shubam! Hahhaha... imagine Sean Kingston's Beautiful Girls (Suicidal) played as a waltz! So... I did enjoy it, despite the language barrier. And oh! Thumbs up to the Production Team and the Marketing Team! Just err... please don't do shows in Genting. Too far la! Nanti pening naik atas gunung, turun bawah gunung.

By the way, I tried looking out for Kenny Sia because he mentioned he was also going to see Rose Rose I Love You. Sigh! Didn't get too.
My only upset of the night was me loosing the Musical Programme Booklet. Darn! I actually liked the outlay and creative design. :(
I LOVED my weekend in Gentings! It was the get-away I needed for so long!

GAY AND GRAY

It appears that news of Dumbledore being gay is still stiring commotions and different opinions around the world. But let's see one of the local comments, shall we?

The most interesting comment certainly has to come from Kennysia.com
This is simply, a MUST read.

The graphics got me laughing all the way to bed!

HAIR TALES

Pat wanted to go to a Saloon near my workplace, so badly. And she managed to persuade me to join her. So, what the heck! It's time I got rid of the perm and get my hair straighten out.

She traded her long straight hair for these awesome waves! This the before picture:

Believe me, I have NEVER looked this good before.
We felt sooooo good about our new hair-do. After meeting Pat's friends who were having a 'bowling' good fun time, the both of us headed to Bangsar.
To Bangsar we did go but not for clubbing nor pubbing...

... but for Mango Yoghurt Ice Cream! Mmmmmmmm!
You're the best!

SPACE, BEYOND... AND BACK!

Welcome back to earth, Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor!

You really did the country and us proud! Please, do tell us how rendang tasted in outer space... I was really impressed that we finally have our very own Angkasawan and official cosmonaut. Gone are the remarks "can or not?"
To the entire Angkasawan Space Programme crew, sponsors and everyone who helped support... a huge congratulations! We did it!
